I guess now is as good of a time as any to report that The Princess of Darkness Book 2 is almost complete. I am excited about this release because this will be my second self-published work in less than 6 months.

When I published my first book, nerves and stress were running high. What if no one liked it? What if I edit it wrong (I missed some things)? What if Amazon rejects my book? There were a flurry of questions and I’ve learned that it’s all part of the process.

With my second book, I have a better idea of what I am doing. Remember, I always say life is a learning process. If you’re living life and not learning anything new, your existence is likely boring.

While writing my second book The Princess of Darkness Book 2, I am writing the chapters and editing them in the same setting. For the moment, that process is working better for me than the editing process for the first book.  Thank God for Scribd. Since I will release Books 1 and 2 as a paperback, the formatting challenge is upon me. I am looking at cover art at the moment and will have someone make my cover for me. The last time I used Amazon KDP book art.

The self-publishing adventure has taught and continues to teach me a lot. I remember when I first decided I would publish my first book. For years, I had written short stories and left them on my hard drive, never to be seen again. But after reading self-published authors blogs, watching YouTube and getting a kick in the pants from a kick ass astrologer, I took the plunge and so glad that I did.

This next book will be better than the last because I know what I need to look for. Formatting and keyword optimization were a challenge the first time, I hope that I have a better grip on it this time around. No one ever said following your dreams would be easy so while I am writing/editing, my mind is also on promotion. The publishing of your book doesn’t end once you hit the “Publish” button.  If you’re looking to make money off your work, I would advise coming up with a written promo plan before the book is finished. One day I will take a short break from writing just to enjoy my accomplishments but the time for celebrating hasn’t quite arrived just yet.

Well, for now that is about it as far as the progress report goes. I also wanted to share that I have lowered my first book, The Princess of Darkness, available on Amazon to the cool price of 99 cents. You read right, for 99 cents you can escape from some of this madness we call life even if it’s just for a little while. If you buy the book, please leave a review. There are people who love my book and excited for the next one but they didn’t leave a review. Constructive criticism helps a creative artist work on their craft and while I don’t strive for perfection, I want to be taken seriously as a writer. The link to my book is here. Thank you all so much. Until next time. Keep sipping wine and writing your adventures. 🙂
