If you’re a creator, this article is for you. I’m a creator too but I set my own pace. I love writing and right now, it’s all about what I love.
Let’s talk about what I’m not loving. Social media trolls. We’ve all gotten hate comments in our comment section, but it seems in the past 5 years or so, people see their phone as a cape.
I’m not sure how it happened, but somewhere along the way, humans have lost their damn minds and sense of humor. I’ve watched countless videos of creators doing comedy skits and touching on real life issues. Their content be solid AF but we all know where the poison is.
The comment section.
I’m not sure who raised some of these hyenas. They think nothing of coming to your page talking reckless under the assumption YOU’RE a nice person. Quite a few have found out the hard way, if you play with me, I’ll verbally ruin you. Why? Because if you didn’t like my post, you can keep scrolling, so why leave hateful shit for attention?
Creators (me included) need to tighten up our channels by dealing with these lame trolls on our own. These platforms have a bad habit of coming for the person who defended themselves versus the troll.
So how do we solve this?
By BLOCKING PRIVATE AND ANONYMOUS trolls. You know the ones I’m talking about. They talk shit in creators comment section all damn day but when you go look at their page, it’s “private”.
Oh word?
They got all the ether, lies and folklore for people who aren’t bothering them but doing it all from a private page where we can’t comment about them at all. Why? Because we don’t know them. What kind of weird shit is this?
That’s why I’m going to be the change I want to see. No more going back and forward with people who hide in their mom’s basement sucking up her internet. If one mentions me on any app with nonsense, my first step, if they are on my page, I’M DELETING THEIR COMMENT AND THEN BLOCKING. No words will be exchanged.
We needed another social media platform like we needed a hole in our heads. What we need to do is applying some pressure to these trolls. Maybe if enough of us start blocking them from our content, the social media climate will change.
If you are a content creator, I’m almost certain you did it to showcase your art form, for whatever reason. The only way we get the cyberbullying and trolling to stop is to be the change we hope to see. None of these platforms really give a damn about their creators so until they get the point:
Block every damn troll that hits your comment section without discrimination and don’t let anyone make you feel bad for doing it. The cyber trolling has nothing to do with difference in opinion, and everything to do with their lack of home training.
Block and delete these clown comments expeditiously.
Until we read again
