Bronchitis is the inflammation of the air passages in the lungs. A condition which can be caused by smoke, air pollution, and chemicals, bronchitis can cause symptoms of wheezing, persistent cough and possibly a fever, bronchitis can be the result of a viral or bacterial infection.

If you have been diagnosed with this condition, the first thing you need to do is rest. Second, you will want to avoid any kind of smoke and harsh chemicals. For the painful and dry cough, inhaling essential oils can alleviate some of your symptoms. There are a few ways you can achieve this but the easiest way I will recommend is via essential oil diffuser. I have not come across a diffuser that can’t double as face steamer. Simply put a towel around the diffuser and lower your head inside over the steam so you can inhale it. If it is a cold air essential oil diffuser, you will be fine. If your diffuser produces hot steam, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS. You can purchase a different diffuser or use a face steamer which is designed to produce steam at a tolerable temperature.

You can also apply herbal blends topically in the form of salves and massage oils.  With so many blends to choose from, let’s first start with the essential oils you can use to alleviate your bronchitis symptoms.
