Sagi Diva: The Working Class Diva

Recall when I said this blog is for those of us who are “luxurious” on a budget? Well the following review is what I mean. The Yellow Tail brand originates from Australia, I discovered their selection, 6 years ago and with plenty to choose from, you’re almost assured to find something to your liking. Wine snobs that say you can’t get a nice bottle of wine for less than $20 aren’t looking hard enough, which means more for us right?

The first Yellowtail Wine I will officially review for you is the their budget friendly Riesling. You should be able to find a small (750ml) for less than $10.

Name of Wine: Yellow Tail Riesling

Description: This is a not sweet or bitter white wine. You will want to drink this cold as possible without freezing. The cold brings out the crispness which makes it light and refreshing

Taste: Citrus for the nose and beginning, green apple tartness and hint of cinnamon towards the end.

Pair With: Pairs very nice with spicy Asian dishes

ABV: 11.5%

Where Did I Get It: You should be able to find this wine at any supermarket, most liquor stores and CVS/Walgreens ( if they sell liquor).

Are you a fa of Yellow Tail wines? Which ones have you tried? If there is a wine Yellow Tail makes and you want me to review it, drop me a line.

Stay savvy and fabulous!

This is my first wine review and I’m still working on format. I am thinking short is best.

Name of Wine: 2014 Caves Velhas, Encostas Do Douro, Duoro Doc

Description: This is a full bodied Portuguese red wine similar to a Malbec ( I will be posting about different wine types in the future).

Taste: Raspberry and citrus at the front, mineral at the back.

Pair With: This wine pairs with almost anything, I had a glass with broiled pork chops and steamed vegetables.

Where Did I Get It: When I decided that I wanted to blog about wine, I knew I’d have to join a wine club to keep a variety going. After thorough research, I chose Wine Awesomeness. I pay $45 per month and I get 3 nice bottles of wine. My first shipment came with chocolates to try. They have a 6 bottle membership for $72 as well.

Their website is very easy to maneuver. You can move your shipment date, deactivate and pause your membership. I remembered I am going on vacation soon and I knew I needed to move my ship date. I will report back on how it goes.

Anyone else a member of Wine Awesome? Do you love wine? Know any good wines for me to try? Leave me some feedback, I will reply back.

Welcome :)

Welcome to my blog. I could write a novel about what I hope for you to get out of it. But I prefer simplicity. I am just a self proclaimed working class diva that enjoys writing, travel, wine and everything in between. I want this place to be free flowing and relaxing. A place where I can share my travels, tidbits of my life with a nice glass of wine. I hope you enjoy the journey.

Feel free to leave feedback. I am open to suggestions.
