What Are We Drinking : Island Grove Black and Blueberry Dry Wine
I’ve reviewed wines from @formosawinery in the past. With the slight drop in temps here in Florida, I decided to try some of their dry red wines. Purple in color, on the nose you get aromas of blackberry and fresh blueberries. On the palate this wine is semi dry with a heavy bodied mouth feel. 85% blackberry, 15% blueberry. Not too heavy in tannins. Smooth finish. 11% ABV.
Placed some in my decanter to test it out and after 15 minutes of decanting, this wine was a tad lighter in mouth feel, almost airy with the rich fruit flavors lightened a bit. I chilled some and it was just as delicious as it is right out the bottle at room temp. It could be a great addition to a cocktail spritzer. I’d pair this with some brolied pork chops or cookout grub. 93/100 points.
